China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), one of the country's leading nuclear power plant operators, and French energy supplier Electricite de France (EDF) will jointly conduct forward-looking research on nuclear energy-supported low-carbon development after they signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on April 4 in Beijing, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported last Friday.
The joint research by CNNC and EDF will focus on the technological development and market trends in the field of nuclear energy.
The two sides will also jointly compile and release a blue paper to showcase the common positions of enterprises from China and France in addressing climate change and energy issues.
