Wuhan sees rise in China-Europe freight train trips since Spring Festival travel rush

Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, handled 95 China-Europe freight train journeys since the beginning of this year's Spring Festival travel rush which started on January 7 this year, according to China Railway Wuhan Bureau Group Co.
Among them, a total of 23 China-Europe freight trains departed from Wuhan since the Spring Festival travel rush, an increase of 43.8 percent year on year, while about 72 China-Europe freight trains arrived in Wuhan, surging 157.1 percent year on year.
To better satisfy the strong demand of the international market, the Wuhan bureau group has increased the number of carriages from original 41 to 55 for each freight train.
It is learned that Wuhan has gradually formed an international logistics network system, with 37 stable cross-border freight train routes covering 40 countries and 107 cities in Europe and Asia so far.
