GLOBALink | Americas-Asia Agriculture Food Forum held in California, seeking more cooperation

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- A smaller, but no less determined post-pandemic international Americas-Asia Agriculture Food Forum (AAAFF) met on Wednesday and Thursday in Southern California, to network and discuss best practices in the global food and agricultural industries.

The forum held in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, about 37 miles (about 59.5 km) east of Downtown Los Angeles, attracted around 100 representatives from China, the United States, and some other countries.

The international event is held annually.

It was jointly hosted this year by the Representative Office in the United States of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the China Certification and Inspection Group (CICC) North America Inc., and the U.S.-China Agriculture Trade Service Center (ATSC).

Originally founded to facilitate trade between the world's two largest economies, the United States and China, as of this year, this agricultural trade forum has expanded its mission objectives beyond the sphere of just the two sides to reflect its increasingly global focus, becoming the Americas-Asia Agricultural Food Forum.

The forum assembled a panel of experts, officials and industry leaders to discuss international import and export issues, government regulations, food safety and security, and other matters important to the global food industry.

While being informed on key issues confronting importers and exporters, the attendees were looking for networking opportunities to enable them to cultivate productive international business relationships with companies in other countries.

According to China's official data, in 2021, the total import and export trade of agricultural products between China and the United States amounted to 46.4 billion U.S. dollars.
