Chinese tire producers make promotions to tap Brazilian market
An online business promotion event was held on Thursday between Chinese tire producers and Brazilian merchants.
Jointly hosted by the Shandong Province branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and LIDE China, a Sao Paulo-based organization aimed at boosting China-Brazil business ties, the event gathered five tire producers from China's Shandong Province and potential customers from across Brazil.
With the acceleration of vaccination against COVID-19, it can be predicted that the Brazilian economy will further recover based on the current improvement, bringing development momentum to the auto industry and opportunities for cooperation in the tire sector, said He Jun, the economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Sao Paulo.
The event was held "to bring this relevant tire market in China closer to Brazil," said Jose Ricardo dos Santos Luz Junior, CEO of LIDE China, noting that this year marks the 47th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Brazil diplomatic relationship, which is growing stronger and stronger, "especially with regards to trade and investment."
Calling Shandong Province a hub of tire producers and suppliers in China, He Zhongjun, vice chairman of the CCPIT Shangdong branch, said he believes the potential of cooperation between the Chinese and Brazilian businesses is huge.
Brazil is the largest automobile market in South America. In the first eight months of this year, 1.48 million automobiles were manufactured in Brazil, up 33 percent year-on-year, boosting the demand for rubber tires.
