Official highlights importance of pump and valve industry cooperation between China and Pakistan
As the pump and valve industry has a cross cutting application in any industry, business cooperation and investment in this sector between Pakistan and China are important and relevant to the future needs of Pakistan, Pakistani officials said.
The China-Pakistan Pump and Valves Investment Forum was held at the Pakistan Embassy Beijing on Monday, with the collaboration of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Beijing, CCPIT Wenzhou and Pump, Valve and Pipe Industry Associations and Business Committee of Wenzhou.
"The pump and valve industry has a cross cutting application in any industry and is key to the engineering industry for any economy, and Wenzhou [in East China’s Zhejiang Province] has a dynamic pump and valve industry,” Ahmed Farooq, deputy head of Mission of the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, told the forum.
“Since there are a lot of cooperative opportunities in manufacturing, investment and trade between Pakistan and China, I'm fully confident that today's event will promote the business to business cooperation and investment in this key area of industrialization,” the official said, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the two countries in high-tech engineering and manufacturing.
"About 70 percent of the energy in Pakistan is imported. We place great importance on gasoline, coal and energy. Their distribution to household requires pumps and valves, so this event is pretty important and relevant to our future needs,” said Badar uz Zaman, commercial counselor of the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing. He also outlined the strong consumer demand in the country, the benefits of manufacturing in Pakistan, as well as the investment-friendly policies of the Pakistani government.
“China and Pakistan were closely linked through the Silk Road more than 2,000 years ago. Today, the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has further strengthened the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of transportation, agriculture, energy, and oceans. Considering the history and trends of development between China and Pakistan, I believe that the cooperation between the companies of the two countries in various economic and trade fields will bring greater opportunities,” said Zhu Jialiang, vice chairman of CCPIT Beijing.
“Wenzhou has attached great importance to the development of the manufacturing industry for a long time, and has cultivated five pillar industries such as electrical, pump and valves, and motorcycle parts, especially the pump and valve industry, which can target high-end areas and focus on intelligent development,” said Zhu Qianji, a consultant with CCPIT Wenzhou.
