CSI wins bid for Serbia's expressway EPC project
China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group Ltd. (CSI) has received the bidding letter from the Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure for the implementation of the Valjevo (Iverak)-Lajkovac expressway project, reported investgo.cn on Thursday.
It is learned the contract value of the project was 158 million euros (about 1.25 billion yuan). The project marks another breakthrough in EPC project construction in the European market after the Serbian E763 highway project, which was successfully conducted by CSI.
According to the current design, the expressway has a total length of about 18.3 kilometers, linking Lajkovac and Valjevo in Serbia, and connecting E763 highway in Lajkovac. As a two-way four-lane road, it will adopt local Serbian standards with a designed speed of 100km/h.
Winning this bid shows Serbian government's recognition of CSI, laying a solid foundation for CSI's development in Serbian and European markets.
