JAKARTA, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is looking to strengthen trade partnership with China by marketing its domestic commodities that have potential beneficiaries to be exported, such as its palm oil products and resources to develop electric vehicle (EV) battery industry.

During the 2024 China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit held in China's Guangxi province on Sept. 24-28, Indonesia opened two pavilions where it showcased a number of domestic products.

"China has become a major trading partner that plays an important role in the economic development of the region, and Indonesia is committed to continuing to strengthen our mutually beneficial relationship, especially in the trade and investment sectors," Director General of National Export Development of the country's Ministry of Trade Mardyana Listyowati said on Tuesday as quoted by local media.

She said that palm oil products came up as Indonesia's strategic and superior commodities to expand the export market to China. As the world's largest palm oil producer, Indonesia has targeted to produce more than 50 million tons of palm oil yearly by 2025.

In the summit, Indonesia also included Wuling Motors Indonesia to be placed in the ASEAN High-Tech Gallery as an attempt to spur the development of the EV ecosystem. She expected that Wuling Indonesia would help strengthen Indonesia's position in the global automotive industry map, especially in the EV industry.

"We have high hopes that in the future there will be an improvement in relations between Indonesia and China for the sake of the welfare of the people in the two countries," she said.
