Silk Road Fund Receives Additional 80 Billion RMB

On October 18, 2023, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the opening ceremony of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that an additional 80 billion RMB will be injected to Silk Road Fund, offering more financing support for BRI projects in line with market principles and on commercial basis.

After the injection, the capital size of Silk Road Fund will be 40 billion USD plus 180 billion RMB. The capital injection is an action that demonstrates China’s determination to support the high-quality development of BRI through practical cooperation.
