Kuwait strives for win-win cooperation with China: official
KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- A Kuwaiti official stressed that Kuwait will strive for win-win cooperation with China, implementing the agreements under the framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and Kuwait's "National Vision 2035."
At the opening ceremony of a seminar on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation held in Kuwait's Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate on Sunday, Khaled Mahdi, secretary-general of Kuwait's Supreme Council for Planning and Development, said the Belt and Road cooperation, which serves the common interest of all, has delivered remarkable fruits over the past 10 years.
The official noted that the cooperation agreements between Kuwait and China have covered areas including energy, transportation and housing, which were also important components of Kuwait's "National Vision 2035," adding that both sides would focus on implementing these agreements in the upcoming period.
Liu Xiang, charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, said the Belt and Road cooperation over the past decade has comprehensively pushed forward the development of China-Kuwait relations.
China looks forward to working with all parties to draw up a new blueprint for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation in the new era, promote the development of all countries, and make new contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, added Liu.
The seminar, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, was attended by Kuwaiti government officials, Chinese and Kuwaiti academics, and representatives of Chinese enterprises.
