BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhua) -- The Bolshoi Ballet will begin a six-day run of performances at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing on Tuesday, the NCPA said in a press release on Monday.

It will be the Bolshoi's third run at the NCPA, following performances in 2010 and 2018, the NCPA said.

The Bolshoi Ballet will bring two programs to Chinese audiences. "The Bolshoi Ballet Gala" program will see 11 of the most brilliant pieces from the Bolshoi Theatre's repertoire performed, such as an adagio from the ballet "Romeo and Juliet" and the pas de deux from the second act of the ballet "Swan Lake." The second program will be the ballet "Don Quixote."

A total of 15 principal dancers of the Bolshoi Ballet will perform, according to the NCPA.

Founded in 1776, the Bolshoi Theatre is Russia's main national theater. The Bolshoi Ballet has gained a global reputation through its classical ballet performances, including "Swan Lake," "The Sleeping Beauty," "Don Quixote," "The Nutcracker," and "Romeo and Juliet."
