Interview: Saudia Technic promotes partnership with China to benefit from its massive expertise
RIYADH, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's leading aviation maintenance firm said it is dedicated to promoting a partnership with China to benefit from its massive expertise in the airline industry.
In an interview with Xinhua on Tuesday, CEO of Saudia Technic Fahd Cynndy highlighted the company's collaboration with Chinese counterparts to benefit from their rich experiences.
"Definitely, as the CEO of the company, I'm looking at the Chinese market and have partnerships with Chinese institutions. I believe that the recent visit to China made by our chairman of the board and Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser was a sign that, as a country, we are exchanging visits with Chinese partners to benefit the industries and development of both countries," he said.
"China is a massive market with big airlines," said the CEO, whose company provides end-to-end aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul solutions.
The company is building an MRO village at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in partnership with the China Railway Construction Corporation to fulfill Saudi Arabia's growing demand for maintenance, repair and operations in the aviation space and to match pace with its expanding fleet of airlines.
By December, we expect over 2,600 specialized staff from China to work in the MRO village as it goes to the next level. The massive village offers integrated services in cooperation with our Chinese partners, he revealed, stressing "when we talk about China, we should highlight the skilled labor, the technical expertise, the futuristic plans."
While discussing the economic diversification and growth, Cynndy highlighted that the Saudi Vision 2030 was launched with specialized plans and strategies, including one for aerospace and logistics sector aims to increase air connectivity to 250 destinations, 4.5 million metric tons of cargo and logistics shipments.
He continued that "to achieve the targeted plans, there is an incredible expansion in current players in the markets, which are Saudi Airlines, Flyadeal and Flynas, along with the newly introduced Riyadh Airlines."
He predicted it would only be a matter of time for Saudi Arabia and China to increase the frequency of direct flights between the two countries from the already launched ones.
