Thai journalist Supachai's connection with China started 15 years ago when he studied in Shanghai. The journalist from Thailand's Managernewspaper has been following China's development since then. A recent trip across Xinjiang helped him find the answer to a question that bothered him for a long time — why is Xinjiang so different from what he read in news reports by Western media? They see Xinjiang with prejudice and from a Western point of view. Every place has its own culture and customs. Stereotypes should be avoided when looking at Xinjiang.
